BRASS MUSICAL INSTRUMENT REPAIR & SALES
Mr. Groves is available for instruction on trombone, didgeridoo, euphonium, baritone, tuba and trumpet. John's services include: adjudication, beginning band recruitment demos for trombone, clinics (trombone / brass masterclasses and sectionals) and didgeridoo presentations (for K-12, college ethno-musicology classes, and general public workshops), Brass musical instrument Repair and Sales for Trumpets, Trombones and more brass.
STUDENT RESULTS
Lessons build personal musicianship confidence and a life time of music appreciation skills. Students over the years have qualified for Idaho & Washington All-State Band & Orchestra, WIBC, All-Northwest honor ensembles and All-State solo contest. Post high school students have successfully auditioned for music scholarships for in state and national music programs in colleges, universities and conservatories.
CREDENTIALS
John Groves has 26+ professional years experience instructing youth through adult musicians. John earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Central Washington University, focused study in music education and trombone performance. Mr. Groves has studied trombone with Kadie Nichols, Pacific NW Ballet Orchestra and Larry Gookin, Professor of Music Central Washington University. Brasswind musical instrument repair certified at Colorado Institute of Musical Instrument Technology (CIOMIT). Study of didgeridoo with Djalu Gurruwiwi, Northern Territory, Australia.
PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE
Groves' instructing and performance experiences include but not limited too, Brass Choir, Dixieland/Trad Jazz, Jazz Band, Rock, Funk, R&B, Soul, Marching Band, Orchestra, Quartet, Solo, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Trombone Choir & Australian Aboriginal music studies.
